We're growing and looking for a passionate, driven and energetic candidate to join our team for the position of Corporate Accounting Analyst located in Guelph, Ontario !
Job Description
As a Corporate Accounting Analyst, you will be assist with professional accounting tasks and analysis of financial data in support of various accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cost Accounting, and General Accountingwhile supporting our shared goal of creating meaningful value and an exceptional experience for our customers, our people and our communities.
What you will be doing:
- Prepare and process monthly REIT redemption EFT's/wires.
- Calculate and prepare monthly REIT distributions EFTs.
- Record monthly journal entries in Yardi and/or Quickbooks.
- Reconcile and maintain a full understanding of all balance sheet and income statements.
- Prepare detailed monthly variance analysis of income statement accounts.
- Review, code and process approved invoices through to payment and filing.
- Manage accounts receivable and ensure that monthly revenues are collected on time.
- Prepare monthly HST remittance and federal tax installments.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare financial reporting on a quarterly and annual basis, as required.
What we look for:
- Excellent accounting skills and ability to apply accounting theory, principals and techniques.
- Knowledgeable in auditing practices and principles.
- Practiced in the set up and maintenance of spreadsheets and databases as well as organizing data to prepare reports and financial documentation.
- Knowledge of Residentialproperty management and/or Commercial real estate is an asset.
- Strong critical thinking as well as analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated experience in accounting software (i.e. Simply, Accpac, Quick books, Yardi, etc.)
- Post-Secondary education in Accounting, Finance or related disciplineis required.
- Accounting designation or working towards a designation is an asset.
