Technical Sales Representative

Position Summary : Reporting to the North America National Sales Manager, Analytical & Organic Science, the Technical Sales Representative will be responsible of increasing sales and managing customers and Calibre Scientific expectations in their assigned territories as per annual growth targets. Territory will be determined based on the employee location.

  • Prepare quotations for customers based on customer price list
  • Prospect and create new sales opportunities, generate leads, follow-up on leads generated by marketing and identify opportunities for repeat business
  • Determine target customers following promotions and follow up on marketing campaigns
  • Engage potential customers via cold calling
  • Build strong relationships with potential customers, while providing a consultative sales approach
  • Respond to customers regarding product information, product delivery, quotes, contracts, etc.
  • Maintain Hubspot by continually updating customer information
  • Build cross-reference list
  • Provide monthly report on progress
  • Assist with customer issues and fill in for complaints
  • This position requires some availability outside normal working hours.
  • Available to travel approx. 30% amount of the time (training, conferences, customer visits)
  • Working with National Sales Manager to assess accounts and propose yearly sales objectives for each product line and reviewing plans regularly throughout the year and adjust actions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

Scientific (chemistry, biochemistry) degree or relevant field from four-year College or University and 1-2 years product sales and support.

Hands-on experience in a Laboratory environment and experience with chromatography is required.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Language Ability:

Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public. Must be bilingual (spoken and written)

Mathematical Ability:

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Expert skills in spreadsheets and word processor usage
  • Adept at reviewing data and extracting meaningful performance indicators
  • Hubspot and SAP experience an asset.

  • Performs work in indoor conditions, 100% of the time.
  • Work will be predominately done remotely.
  • Required to travel 30% of the time.
  • The level of noise is moderate (general office and warehouse distribution).
  • This position requires working with office equipment, and computer equipment.
  • Ability to travel internationally is required.
