The Project Manager Level 1 is responsible for the successful completion of low to medium risk business process change or similar projects safely, with quality, within budget and on time by leading project teams and applying project management principles. The role is responsible for supporting the Senior Regulatory Specialist and project team in writing successful Capital Project Applications (full-length business cases for projects exceeding $100 million) to be filed with the BC Utilities Commission (BCUC). The Capital Project Applications upon submission will result in a series of questions from the BCUC and other stakeholders to which this role is responsible for supporting the Senior Regulatory Specialist in coordinating replies from subject matter experts, reviewing replies, and coordinating reviews by Senior leadership. Plan, direct, and report on business process change or similar project activities by consistently monitoring project benefits, resources and status and creating documents such as project plans, action logs, communication plans, status reports and post-implementation reviews so that the project is implemented as planned. Develop project plans and risk management plans for business process change or similar projects by identifying, analyzing, and monitoring risks for effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle. Complete project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks by using intermediate skills in Microsoft Office as well as project management programs to fulfill the company's business needs. Maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders through regular reporting and communication using excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills enabling timely progression of projects. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or related discipline. A minimum five (5) years of project management experience or equivalent. Must have experience and understanding of capital planning and project delivery processes. Must have experience writing and preparing project business cases Eg. Experience writing business cases in the public sector would be beneficial. Proficiency in project management, scheduling or reporting software tools is an asset (such as excel or primavera). Experience with power system projects is an asset. Advanced English skills for a professional environment, written and spoken. Term: 1-year initial contract, likely to extend based on performance and workload. This role requires regular or occasional attendance at the company's workplace(s) (Edmonds Office - Burnaby) and as such will be subject to their Contractor Vaccination Policy.
