Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair compressed air equipment for compliance with quality standards.
- Build and maintain positive relationships through clear communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
- Address complaints, propose solutions, and suggest improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Manage end-to-end testing, programming, and servicing of assigned projects.
- Act as the main customer contact, ensuring on-site equipment and system repair for customer satisfaction.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and service requests, including equipment modifications.
- Collaborate with team leaders and customers to understand installation and repair requirements.
- Provide training to customers as part of servicing projects.
- Diagnose and repair units using hand tools and technology based on schematics and specifications.
- Uphold high safety standards and document asset usage, wear, and conditions.
- Organize necessary documentation for reporting to manage business requirements.
- Independently manage daily needs, identify repair parts, and assess urgency.
- Stay current on Ingersoll Rand products, including installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Recommend parts and services, and assist in the approval process.
- Travel approximately 50% annually to customer sites in Alberta and British Columbia.
- Demonstrate commitment to teamwork, and flexibility for customer demands, including overtime and travel.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service and installation activities.
- Promote company products, services, and solutions to improve customer operations.
Mechanical and electrical aptitude required. A high school diploma is required, with a preference for post-secondary education and technical training. Previous turbo machinery/centrifugal air compressor service experience is a plus. Special consideration for experience in mechanical, millwright, HVAC, electrical/electronics, and compressed natural gas. Preferred knowledge in AC/DC circuits, wiring diagrams, motors/controls, and more. Relevant skills considered. Training includes job shadowing, hands-on work, online training, and formal classroom instruction. Occasional travel to Ingersoll Rand's US training facility is required. A valid Canadian passport is needed for travel. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools for diagnostics. Familiarity with equipment manuals. Proficient in Microsoft Office and laptop/handheld device use. Must have a standard set of tools; specialty tools provided by the company. Work involves various conditions, including noisy equipment rooms, hot/cold weather, high-voltage equipment, and use of ladders. Physically demanding role involving various activities. Weight lifting up to 50 lbs. A clean criminal record is required. A valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving history is needed. Drug-free workplace policy. Employment eligibility in the Airdrie, Alberta region is required. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required before employment, second dose if applicable.
