Position Overview:

This position is responsible for the field maintenance and repair on a variety of Caterpillar engines and auxiliary equipment in the general line/power systems world. The successful candidate will be running out of a fast response truck on a Monday-Friday schedule based out of our Red Deer General Line Facility.

Job Description:
  • Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Working with the supervisor on various tasks
  • Providing fast response service for general line and power systems equipment
  • Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
  • Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
  • Various related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (required)
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
  • Completion, or in the process of completing, Finning S-level courses
  • Dedication to safety
  • Team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to effectively interact with customers

Assets:

  • Previous field service experience and familiarity with computers
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar product line
  • Engine and/or component rebuilding experience
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing
  • 2D and 3D machine control and setup experience
  • Power Systems experience

Note:

  • This position is for a 5x2 Mon-Friday schedule based out of our Red Deer General Line Construction facility
  • Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
