Who we need

The Administrative Assistant, Health Authority is responsible for providing administrative support, reporting to the Health Authority Liaison. They will conduct student placements within Health Authorities and agencies, wherein which the university is to apply on the student's behalf. The successful candidate will demonstrate high levels of organization, attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills. This is a remote opportunity, operating during standard business hours of the province in which the successful candidate resides.

What you will do
  • Assist with coordination of student applications for placement within health authorities/agencies requiring the university to apply on the student's behalf across Canada/internationally.
  • Possess strong competencies in conflict resolution and crisis management.
  • Provide administrative support in the execution and maintenance of affiliation agreements/Memorandum of Understandings with sites/agencies.
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office, data management, and have the ability to quickly learn other software programs used in on-line learning.
  • Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), its regulations and all organizational health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify and report any known workplace hazard or any known violation of the OHSA or regulations to the Health Authority Liason.
  • Attend all health and safety training as directed by your manager and apply this knowledge to your job.
  • Must possess the ability to work effectively with a diverse population of graduate students in a professional training program in counselling psychology.
  • Professionally engage in high level communications with professionals at practicum sites across Canada along with University staff and faculty.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and independently as needed.
What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. College diploma required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing support to professionals in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and effectively managing large volumes of confidential paperwork.
  • Experience working in a university setting would be an asset.
  • Experience working in a counselling, human services or social service agency would be an asset.
