We are looking for an Accountant to join our dynamic, fast-paced Financial Statutory Accounting Services team. This is a hybrid role based in either Dartmouth, Nova Scotia or Vancouver, British Columbia.The Accountant will prepare financial reports and perform general accounting to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, manage banking control functions, manage insurance, assist with payroll and other related financial activities.

As an Accountant, you will focus on these responsibilities:
Perform general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department in SAP.
Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements in Oracle HFM.
Maintain the general ledger for Canada, United States and Puerto Rico.
Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
Work with a team to manage cash functions.
Reconcile customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
File required compliance forms with federal, provincial, and local government agencies.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • 5+ years accounting experience
  • Ability to pay close attention to details
  • Some knowledge IFRS
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities due to fast past work environment
  • Must have SAP experience
  • Knowledge of Power BI
  • Experience with HFM and QlikView is a plus
  • MUST be a Canadian citizen, sponsorship is not available for this role

Successful applicant must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship. Salary range is $65,000 - $80,000 CAD, depending on experience and education. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods. Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company-paid holidays.
