Position: Embedded Software Designer
Location: Montreal

As part of our dynamic R&D team, the Embedded Software Designer plays a pivotal role in the development of new products and features. This role involves designing, programming, testing, and optimizing embedded systems and software while managing hardware and energy consumption effectively. Reporting to the Vice President and Director of Technology:

- Plan and implement embedded solutions.
- Program, test, debug, and optimize embedded functionalities.
- Manage embedded hardware, energy, memory, peripherals, radios (Bluetooth and sub-GHz), and telemetry sensors.
- Collaborate with product design teams and mobile application and back-end server software teams.
- Implement secure and efficient solutions.
- Develop and implement communication protocols and routines (cellular modem, UDP/IP, BLE).
- Provide engineering support during development, recommend required or desirable engineering changes, and document them.

Required Qualifications:

- Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, Programming, or relevant experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Git & submodules, and electronic circuitry.
- Familiarity with telecommunications and laboratory tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, generators, analyzers).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of telemetry and distributed systems is an asset.
