The Opportunity

The Human Resources Team of CGI's Canadian Strategic Business Unit is responsible for the delivery of a multitude of Human Resource programs and initiatives and for championing the organizational change management that surrounds these programs. We play a vital role in ensuring the organization's success. We have a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner to assist with the continued transformation of CGI through the delivery excellence of Human Resources initiatives in many forms. CGI is a highly complex organization that is gaining significant momentum in its growth initiatives, so day-to-day support at CGI doesn't mean basic or transactional. Be it talent management, succession planning, leadership development, employee relations, acquisition and integration - this is all part of the dynamic world of a Human Resources Business Partner at CGI.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  1. Act as a strategic partner, trusted advisor and HR consultant to the assigned client groups in our Infrastructure business unit, helping them to build, develop and lead their organizations by providing them with the necessary HR programs, tools and information
  2. Facilitate the successful execution of all people related programs, policies and initiatives
  3. Design and implement strategies to build capability and maximize member-partner performance
  4. Focus on engagement at all levels within assigned client groups and the business unit
  5. Partner with HR peers across Canada to ensure cohesive and seamless HR service delivery, bringing all our best practices to our member-partners.
  6. Ensure compliance with employment standards legislation and company policies, delivering with operational excellence.
  7. Provide value-added support to your assigned teams with timely, accurate and relevant information and metrics to help drive organizational effectiveness
  8. Conduct confidential investigations related to employee relations issues/incidents
  9. Operate as a liaison between the member-partners and the Global Business Services team/HR Service Center (self-help) for member-partner related queries that go beyond the day-to-day issues
  10. Lead several HR initiatives/projects at the business unit level with some contribution to our Global HR initiatives

Primary office location (1-2 days per week) is in Montreal, Quebec

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
  • Relevant post-secondary education with a Human Resources designation or equivalent human resources experience.
  • Minimum 5 – 8 years relevant experience in a high volume, rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrated capabilities in Talent Management and Organization Development;
  • Previous experience in an information technology consulting environment would be an asset
  • Demonstrated Leadership and influencing skills
  • Negotiating and Conflict Management Skills
  • Superior communication skills (verbal and written) in both English and French.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and HR systems and tools
