As the Product Marketing Manager , you will build a product marketing strategy, drive positioning and messaging for new products, help launch new products, and nail their messaging and story. To excel in this role, you will need to work in tandem with the product management, marketing, and other go-to-market teams to participate in pre-and post-sale communications with prospects and customers. Your work will intertwine with the software development lifecycle, including product launches and related after-sale programming. You will use your product marketing expertise to create compelling product messaging and support sales success by developing compelling product training material to drive product awareness and adoption with customers.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our target markets, including buyer personas, key uses cases, and customer needs
  • Contribute to defining the messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategy
  • Develop marketing and sales enablement assets and tools to transfer that knowledge to the go-to-market teams, support internal product training on new products/capabilities, and supporting prospect education and lead generation
  • Work across teams including Product Management, Marketing, Customer Success, Customer Experience, and Sales
  • Work with product and sales orgs to coordinate and launch new Higher Education Technology products and features to market with innovative campaigns across the customer journey and lifecycle
  • Own the creation and development of all high-impact product marketing materials, collateral, and training documentation
  • Be a subject matter expert; you will provide market intelligence/customer insights as you are the expert on our customers and how/why they buy and their persona, regulatory considerations, and competition
  • Communicate the value proposition based upon competitive analysis of our solutions and provide the tools and training for the go-to-market team to leverage
  • Support the sales team in their activities, including product demos and other resources as appropriate
  • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will collaborate and assist the sales team in handling complex sales inquiries, RFP responses, and customer-facing product education and roadmap updates
  • Be the go-to person for your team members on all product marketing and training topics; you will communicate and present critical marketing and product-oriented training plans, reports, and opportunities to cross-functional teams
  • Establish relationships with key customers, partners, and analysts in order to develop case studies, references, testimonials, and other collateral
  • Work closely with the Product Team to understand and influence roadmaps. Provide feedback to Product Managers and core team regarding key customer criteria for the successful future product roadmap and feature enhancements. Driving cross-functional alignment with product managers for proper flow of information between teams.

You should have:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in product marketing strategy and supporting global business growth.
  • A right and left-brained thinker; you're as comfortable with a technical piece of content and analyzing data as you are with creative brand work
  • Experience and comfort working cross-functionally with sales, demand generation, customer success, product, engineering, and leadership
  • Experience creating product marketing and training collateral including User Guides, Marketing Collateral, Web Copy, Presentations, Flow Diagrams, Process Mapping Documents, and Training
  • Experience in leveraging virtual training technologies; (webinar, podcast, other on-demand methods)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, from writing collateral and web copy to presentations that deliver business concepts and moderately technical concepts to a diverse audience-base
  • Proven experience in best practices in market research and competitive benchmarking with the ability to spot industry trends, identify and map how to execute the appropriate marketing tactics to increase product or Company visibility
  • Experience using essential data to measure the impact of your contribution
  • A resourceful attitude with the ability to rapidly understand business objectives and creatively present solutions to a diverse audience
  • Proficiency with technology and systems; ability to quickly learn new techniques and processes and effectively train colleagues on these items
  • A "roll up the sleeves" attitude; a self-starting orientation with the intense drive to "make things happen" in a fast-paced environment, to resolve ambiguity, and think quickly on your feet
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of establishing credibility with key customers, prospects and business partners, sales, customer support, and development
  • Strong project management skills and time management skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Google Workspace, Figma, and other creative tools
