Job Summary:Reporting to the Sr. Manager Demand Planning, the Senior Analyst, Demand Planning acts as the expert in planning methodologies, processes, and analytics. This role involves generating value through continuous improvement initiatives and managing forecasting plans for standard, promotional, and life cycle driven product volumes. The Senior Analyst collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely projections, while also working closely with the procurement strategy team to validate forecast volumes. The incumbent plays a key role in attaining and surpassing team objectives, including contractual service level targets, execution of product lifecycle activities, and a focus on inventory risk mitigation.
Section A - Specific Responsibilities:Forecasting and Planning (25%):
Analyze historical data and develop statistical financial forecasts for all SKUs, categories, and customers.
Plan and execute promotional activities in collaboration with customers.
Adjust demand plans based on market trends, price changes, and historical analysis.
Collaborate with the procurement strategy team, procurement solutions team, and hospital distribution solutions team to adjust forecasts and reflect changes related to contracts and market shortages.
Implant joint business plans integrating projected volumes and stock commitments, in collaboration with the account management team and customers.
Prepare forecasts to support negotiation efforts with suppliers and customers by the management team.
Governance and Collaboration (20%):
Develop and implement joint business plans with Account Management and customers, including projected volumes/prebooks and inventory commitments.
Liaise with Account Management, customers, and suppliers to investigate gaps between planned commitments and actuals.
Provide insights and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to enable informed decision-making.
Contribute to weekly SIOP meetings by providing actual vs historical promotional outbound data to identify high-volume events.
Collaborate with Supply Planning and Operations by providing projections/prebooks and associated risks at aggregate levels.
Inventory Management (20%):
Ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Support inventory optimization initiatives by pro-actively communicating out forecast performance metrics, market trends and coordinating activities with broader procurement operations team.
Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to develop and implement inventory strategies that mitigate excesses and secures fill rates.
Product Life Cycle Management (15%):
Provide expertise in product life cycle management activities, including monitoring product performance, identifying end-of-life products, and managing product transitions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for new product introductions and phase-out plans.
Lead projects and act as a process knowledge leader for the demand planning team, demonstrating creative problem-solving and resourcefulness.
Provide management with decision-making information based on fact-based business cases, conducting post-project reviews.
Conduct process reviews, implement best practices, and new work methods to streamline procurement processes and increase productivity.
Continuously identify and implement business process improvement opportunities, leveraging technology for process automation.

Maintain relevant business knowledge of product categories and stay informed about market and industry trends.

Section C - Position Requirements:Work Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Supply Chain Management role, with experience in retail, wholesale, pharmaceutical industry
Education
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
MBA or MSc, CPIM or SCMP designations are assets.
Lean Six Sigma designation an asset.
