The Job:
J.D. Irving, Limited is currently seeking candidates for Boiler Chief/Utilities Manager. Working with our team in Doaktown, New Brunswick, you will be responsible for:

• Foster a safe operating environment and make sure all employees work safely and safety policies are enforced consistent
• Ensure quality drying of lumber; while minimizing drying time and energy consumption.
• Lead and develop boiler operator team.
• Manage productivity and spending to attain budgeted targets.
• Care and maintenance of Steam Boilers and Lumber Drying Kilns.
• Daily Operation of Biomass Fired Boilers.
• Site Energy Management – look for opportunities to manage and conserve energy.

Your Qualifications:

• Power Engineer, 3rd class or higher
• Strong communication and people management skills
• Willingness to learn and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Previous mechanical experience in an industrial setting
• Troubleshooting abilities, with a technical knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and some welding experience are preferred
• The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well organized and detail oriented.
