The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within Cathedral Drilling Tools, prepare work and production schedules and monitor the progress of production and construction projects. Tool Coordinators are responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of downhole tools and equipment to the job site as well as communicating with the onsite representative (OSR) to ensure that all customer requirements are met. This position also requires regular on-call responsibilities and support during after-hours and weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compile detailed worksheets and specifications from customer's order
  • Estimate type and quantity of materials required for completion of order
  • Consult with outside sales to confirm all customer information is correct and complete
  • Review requisition orders for accuracy
  • Ensure job database is correct and complete
  • Consult with production supervisor to schedule production runs in a cost and time-efficient manner
  • Through the use of communication devices ensure communication of customer needs is forwarded to Tool production, MWD production, DD production and Outside Sales
  • Meet regularly with other production clerks, warehouse, production and construction supervisors and purchasing and inventory clerks to co-ordinate activities between warehouses and production floors or construction sites
  • Co-ordinate and monitor the movement of parts, supplies and materials within an establishment and ensure that supplies, materials and products are shipped and received on schedule
  • Prepare and maintain various reports on the progress of work, materials used, rates of production and other production information, using manual or computerized systems.
  • Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping; prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer
  • Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or in computer system, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
  • Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed deliveries and other problems
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations
  • Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
  • Contact approved vendors for transport of goods to site
  • Prepare tool discrepancy reports based on customer reports and internal investigation
  • Directly supervise and confirm that all orders are correct immediately prior to shipment
  • Complete all shipping manifests and confirm descriptions are correct
  • Confirm correct transfers of tools between locations

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Several years of experience as an assembler or inspector in the same company are usually required.
  • Several years of supervisory experience in facility operations or maintenance are usually required.
  • An equivalent combination of technical training and experience in administration or maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Live within close proximity to Nisku, AB and be ready and available to work extra hours as needed to get equipment mobilized and ready for projects requiring such urgency
