Job Summary and Requirements

This posting is to fill one permanent full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly.

Who we are…

The Management Board Secretariat plays a central role in government-wide financial planning and policy development by providing analysis and advice to the Management Board, a committee of Cabinet responsible for government financial management.

We work with all Yukon government departments, corporations, and agencies to lead the development of the territorial budget. We also review proposals for new government programs and provide recommendations to the Management Board to promote effective and efficient use of government financial resources for the benefit of Yukoners.

The opportunity…

This position provides an opportunity to inform decision-making at the highest levels of government by leading the development of the territorial budget. You will also oversee and conduct financial research and analysis to inform short, medium, and long-term fiscal strategies for the Yukon government.

As our ideal candidate, you are an expert in financial analysis with excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills. You have significant experience working with stakeholders, providing guidance, leading change, and effectively managing conflict. You also have extensive experience interpreting and complying with public sector accounting standards, financial policies, and financial legislation.

• Degree in Public or Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Political Science, or a similar discipline.
• Significant experience leading and conducting financial analysis and/or developing budgets.
• Proficiency communicating and presenting financial information in written, and verbal formats.
• Experience leading teams of professionals.
• Significant experience working collaboratively with stakeholders.
• Significant experience interpreting and complying with public sector accounting standards, financial policies, and financial legislation.

Candidates with a combination of relevant post-secondary coursework and significant professional experience will be equally considered.
