Position: Maintenance Journeyman (Millwright)

Location: Cambridge, Ontario

Reporting Relationship: Group Leader - Maintenance

Position Summary

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Builds, moves, installs, diagnoses, repairs and maintains all plant building, equipment, machines and processes, as required; operates in a safe and efficient manner all assigned equipment, machines, tools, fixtures, material movement equipment, work platforms, ladders, etc. as may be required in the performance of duties assigned
2. Checks and maintains proper lubricant levels on all assigned pieces of equipment and machines in the plant
3. Understands and follows the Standard Work/Process/Operating Instructions as posted at work station prior to undertaking tasks
4. Ensures full compliance with all OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) requirements, plant safety rules, work rules and procedures as may apply to duties performed
5. Maintains valid licensing to operate forklifts and other lifting devices as required
6. Wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the tasks being performed
7. Efficiently performs all assigned duties in an effective manner and ensures quality work that meets or exceeds the quality standards of our customers both internally and externally
8. Actively participates in training and continuous improvement activities that promote the efficient and cost-effective utilization of plant resources
9. Completes assigned paperwork as may be required, for example, scrap; production counts; downtime; quality; labor reporting; preventative maintenance; work order forms
10. Complies with requirements and assists in maintenance of the necessary quality standards (QS9000/ISO/TS16949/ISO14001) to ensure re-certification as may be appropriate for the tasks assigned
11. Participates in 5S activities by initiating and maintaining a clean and orderly work area, as necessary
12. Utilizes methods of transportation provided by the company to move tools and equipment, while efficiently and effectively responding to service calls
13. Collects and reports monitoring data in support of the EHS management system
14. Strives towards meeting company EHS goals
15. Understands and follows all EHS policies
16. Participates on EHS teams and committees
17. Participates and promotes EHS activities
18. Reports opportunities for improvement and any EHS issues
19. Stops work activities that create EHS hazards

Minimum Qualifications

Valid Provincial Journeyman's Maintenance Mechanic License
