You seek a role with a multi-disciplinary company that prides themselves on safety and quality.Our Engineering Survey Division provides quality-focused Geomatics methodology that ensures accurate topographic survey data for site development and engineering needs. Binnie is a fully licensed British Columbia Land Surveying company. We provide a full complement of legal survey services to public, and private sectors.Our team, equipped with the latest technology and software works on a wide range of surveying assignments including large transportation, development, and infrastructure projects. Our services include GPS and control surveys, 3D laser scanning, deformation monitoring,hydrographic, topographic, and boundary surveys, as well as construction layout.This position is a full-time field-based position with a competitive compensation package and opportunities for career advancement. You will be an integral part of the team, reporting to the Engineering Survey Division Manager.YOUR ROLE:Mainly working on projects around the Lower Mainland with occasional out of town assignmentsOperating and maintaining survey vehicles, tools and equipmentConducting field surveys in all weather conditionsGathering survey data by using GPS, Total stations and data collectorsTransferring survey data to office network and Assisting in reviewing the survey dataEnsuring delivery of projects within budgets and timelinesDeveloping and maintaining client relationshipsTraining and mentoring Survey AssistantsAssign tasks to Survey Assistants in a collaborative manner, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in work completionWHAT YOU BRING:Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology , or related field.Minimum of 6 years of work experience as Surveyor or equivalentEligible for registration as ASct or C.Tech. with ASTTBC or as Survey Student (SS) or Land Surveyor in Training (LST) with ABCLSValid Driver's LicenseStrong working knowledge of field survey techniques and calculationsSelf-starter who is able to work under minimal supervisionStrong written and verbal communication skillsPhysically fit and able to move and carry survey equipment and toolsAbility to work in variety of outdoor settings for extended periods and varied hoursAbility to prepare clean and complete field notes and sketchesABOUT BINNIE:As an employee-owned firm which is consistently recognized as a Top Employer, we take pride in our work and are respected as one of the top engineering firms in British Columbia.
