*Manager (Toy, Baby, Operations)* The Manager is responsible for leading the team to create a positive, seamless experience for our customers and ensure Toys R Us is a store where people want to be: a fun place to discover, imagine, grow and play. This position supports the Store Manager in leading and nurturing an inclusive, respectful environment. In addition to the general responsibilities that apply to all managers, each manager is responsible for the successful operation of an area of the business: Toy, Baby or Operations. The Manager reports to the Store Manager or Regional Store Manager and is expected to maintain open lines of communication with the regional support team and store teams to ensure a steady flow of information and the timely completion and execution of required initiatives in accordance with company standards. The Manager position requires full availability including nights, weekends, and off-hour shifts. A Manager may be transferred within different areas of the store and must be transferable to other store locations to support the needs of the business. *General Responsibilities– All Managers** Provide direction and feedback to team members * Develop and guide team members to achieve their potential * Recognize successes, opportunities and challenges and look for ways to improve performance * Support others to respond effectively to change * Role model a customer-first mindset. Use daily insight and feedback to improve performance and use MAGIC to deliver a best-in-class customer experience * Plan and participate in the successful execution of well-designed in-store, corporate, and community events to build brand awareness and foster an environment of fun * Hold team members accountable to meet or exceed Company standards and goals. * Plan, prioritize and direct team member time effectively. Instill a sense of urgency. Delegate tasks and follow up * Seek new ways to anticipate customer and/or team member needs * Build trusting, inclusive relationships. Get to know individual team members, their skills, and motivations * Manage customer service issues and requests effectively and efficiently * Apply teamwork and customer service behaviors and have fun at work to energize others * Demonstrate a love for the brand * Analyze key financial metrics and observable behaviors to identify and maximize sales driving opportunities. * Partner with management team to achieve budgeted sales and payroll * Complete Performance Reviews for all team members in area of responsibility * Support team member recruitment, onboarding, and development, including eLearning, product knowledge, compliance, and all job-related training * Lead organized, action-oriented pre-shift meetings that facilitate participation * Manage all daily edits, timesheets, and authorizations within Dayforce *Qualifications - All Managers** 3+ years retail management experience, including customer engagement and in-store merchandising * Personal characteristics should include: high energy, active listener, high integrity, sound judgment, sense of urgency and self-motivation * Effective leadership skills, with the ability to build and inspire teams to achieve results Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $42,000.00 per year Benefits: * Dental care * Employee assistance program * Flexible schedule * Life insurance * Paid time off * RRSP match * Store discount * Vision care Schedule: * Day shift * Evening shift * Every Weekend * Holidays Supplemental pay types: * Bonus pay Ability to commute/relocate: * Etobicoke, ON M9C 1A1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred) Experience: * Management: 3 years (required) Work Location: In person
