Company Description Engcomp is an engineering and decision analysis services provider based in Saskatoon, SK. We specialize in serving Western Canada's heavy industrial sector and offer comprehensive engineering solutions for full project delivery. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Saskatoon, SK, with the flexibility for some remote work. We are seeking a motivated and talented Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers on various projects, assisting in structural analysis, design calculations, drafting, and project coordination. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or entry-level professional to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Assist in Structural Analysis: Conduct structural analysis using software tools under the supervision of senior engineers. Assist in preparing calculations for structural design elements such as beams, columns, and foundations. Drafting and Design: Create detailed drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Support Senior Engineers: Work closely with senior engineers to understand project objectives, timelines, and constraints, and assist in meeting project milestones. Research and Development: Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and techniques through research, attending seminars, and participating in professional development activities. Site Inspections: Participate in site visits to inspect structural components, assess construction progress, and identify potential issues or deviations from design specifications. Quality Assurance: Assist in reviewing design documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy, compliance with codes, and adherence to project requirements. Maintain organized records of design calculations, drawings, correspondence, and project documentation. Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on project status, addressing queries, and seeking guidance as needed. Actively seek opportunities to expand technical skills and knowledge through mentorship, training programs, and self-study. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Strong understanding of mechanical analysis and design principles. Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills in mechanical engineering. Previous internship or co-op experience in a structural engineering firm is a plus. Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations is desirable. Prior industry experience in engineering, fabrication or construction would be an asset.
