Reporting to the Manager HSE, the HSE Advisor will work alongside with the national health and safety team and local operations and be responsible for completing various administrative duties, enforcing compliance with national programs, participating in audits, monthly meetings, performing inspections and will also play a role in operations analytics. They will pull data, create weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports. Assist in developing and implementing safety and loss prevention programs in compliance with Federal and Provincial legislation by adhering to GIP's HSEMS Program. Monitor safety of on-site workers, management, equipment, and other GIP assets to determine vulnerability. Identify potential hazards, hazardous materials and recommend control measures. Educate workers about the company's safety policies, procedures, and essential safety standards. Maintain and improvise site specific safety programs by ensuring compliance with regulatory, client and company requirements at multiple major projects/yards/ manufacturing plants. Provide analytical data to HSE Manager on a monthly basis regarding safety performance of the assigned projects. Identify safety training and orientation requirements. Develop and maintain project specific HSE plans for assigned projects/region. Develop Health and Safety stats and trending analysis for local and regional sites. Provide support and assistance to the operations team for HSE related matters. Communicate information to employees regarding health and safety policies and procedures. Attend, facilitate and participate in weekly safety talks, monthly meetings, and audits. Assist in safety audits, COR compliance. CRSP, NCSO or other professionally recognized safety certification preferred. COR/ISO Auditor training. Evenings and weekends may be required. Valid Driver's License; Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in health and safety, or equivalent education. Minimum of 5 years Health and Safety experience in construction and industrial settings. Comprehensive/working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and industry safety standards. Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.
