Technicians are responsible for after-sales service support, perform technical work, provide technical support and deliver excellent customer service in North America to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, analyze, repair or overhaul rental equipment such as forklift, MEWP, and mobile crane. Provide service and customer support on the phone, during field visits or dispatches, comprehending customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations. Manage all onsite set-up, installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks. Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects, errors and technical problems and determining proper solutions. Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools. Train other technicians and customers service providers on the assembly, operations, maintenance and repair of the equipment. Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications. Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency. Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices. Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems. Support of product improvement. Research, order, and assist in maintaining parts inventory for services and repairs. Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools. Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices. Assemble gear systems and align frames and gears. Fabricate needed parts or items from sheet metal. Produce timely and detailed service reports. Technical Aptitude - Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information. Risk Taker - Ability to take calculated risks or to stretch the limits of comfort zones. Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) Field of Study: Experience: 5+ years of experience in rental equipment assembly, mechanical design maintenance & repair, electrical and electronic principles, hydraulic transmission and must have good equipment maintenance and troubleshooting abilities. Computer Skills: Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, ERP - Preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central a plus Certifications & Licenses: CDL a plus Job Type: Full-time Day shift Monday to Friday Ability to Relocate: ~ Mississauga, ON: Relocate before starting work (required)
