OT Data Scientist

Position Overview: As an OT Data Scientist at BlueMarvel.AI, you will be responsible for using advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques to derive actionable insights from our customers' operational technology systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive development of data-driven solutions that impacts operational safety, efficiency and reliability of our customer systems positively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consultation and Solution Development: Collaborate with customers and partners to identify data and functional requirements for successful data-driven solutions, developing them using cloud technologies.
  • Data Analytics: Collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data from various OT systems, including SCADA, PLCs, and sensors, to develop value-generating applications.
  • Machine Learning: Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms for detecting failure signatures, designing inferential sensors, and establishing dynamic performance baselines.
  • Data Visualization: Create interactive dashboards and reports to effectively communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, aiding informed decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with OT engineers, cybersecurity experts, and other stakeholders to seamlessly integrate data science solutions into the OT environment.
  • Model Validation and Maintenance: Continuously validate and refine machine learning models to ensure their accuracy and reliability in real-world OT scenarios.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data science processes, methodologies, and results for future reference and compliance purposes.
  • Security: Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats and trends in the OT industry to contribute to the development of robust security strategies.
  • Mentoring: Provide technical mentorship to younger team members.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis and machine learning, with a focus on OT systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Javascript.
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and machine learning libraries (e.g., torch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
  • Familiarity with OT protocols and technologies (e.g., Modbus, OPC, HMI/SCADA).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices in an OT context.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications related to data science and cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, Certified Data Scientist).
  • Experience cloud infrastructure Azure, AWS, Google.
  • Experience cloud analytics platforms, e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, AzureML, Sagemaker.
  • Previous experience working in critical infrastructure sectors (e.g., energy, manufacturing, utilities).

Salary range: $75,000 - $120,000, commensurate with experience
