We are looking to hire a Front-End Manager to join our team. The focus of this role is the day-to-day operations related to cash and file maintenance, to optimize customer experience, drive customer traffic, and positively impact store profitability. They are responsible for ensuring their staff give great customer service as well as monitoring the financial performance of the store.

The ideal candidate will have leadership skills, time management skills, organizational skills, customer service skills, and is also able to motivate personnel to perform according to their maximum capacity.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff
• Oversees the daily workflow of the department
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain seasonal and themed customer experiences/events around the store
• Collaborate with vendors for inventory management; submit and track product orders
• Build and maintain positive vendor relationships; place regular product orders, identify discounts and promotions, and recommend items for our flyer
• When needed, support the team of cashiers by processing cash register payments by cash, credit card, gift card, and debit
• Assist customers by answering questions about our products and programs (our loyalty cards), ongoing promotions and fundraisers, and our services (home delivery)
• Oversee the Joint Health & Safety committee and conduct regular Food Safety audits, guide and train the departments on how to improve their safety standards
• Ensure the store is clean, safe and ready for shoppers
• Efficiently deescalate and resolve customer complaints
• Manage and increase department profitability and sales through effective budgeting, merchandising, controlling expenses and driving sales
• Backroom and inventory management
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with staff and customers
• A proven team player and who is also team-focused
• Strong problem solving and in-the-moment decision-making skills, process improvement, strategic planning, verbal communication, customer focus, management proficiency
• Skilled at prioritizing tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
• Able to function well in a high-paced environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education and Experience:

• Completion of a post-secondary program related to Finance or Business Management
• Management and Supervisory experience in retail is as asset
• Experience operating a point-of-sale systems

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds

$45,000-$55,000/annually
