POSITION: Consulting Inclusion Teacher

APPOINTMENT: 1.0 FTE Temporary

DURATION: September 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025

or earlier return of incumbent

Qualifications Required :

  1. education degree plus a Master's degree, or an inclusive education certificate, or 5 upper-level courses (must include a Level B Assessment course) ;
  2. recent successful classroom teaching experience in adapting curriculum;
  3. ability to lead in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Individual Education Plans, Learning Support Plans and Annual Instruction Plans;
  4. ability to select and adapt curriculum, programs, and instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students including those with complex diverse abilities;
  5. ability to carry out a variety of assessments, including classroom observation, curriculum- based assessment and diagnostic teaching methods, and administration and interpretation of norm-referenced assessment instruments to level B ;
  6. guide and support education assistant work under the direction of the school principal and provide leadership to the student support services department;
  7. serve as school representatives when consulting with school district staff and community agencies;
  8. effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills;
  9. ability to integrate technologies and digital citizenship into educational programs; and
  10. BC Professional Teaching Certificate and current eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card.
