The Opportunity

Using your proven experience and technical expertise, you will be a leader in building project teams while chasing opportunities and creating long-lasting relationships in the Vancouver market. You are known for keeping construction and engineering best practices top of mind while exhibiting a high degree of professionalism and expertise in client presentation, negotiation, and interaction on project progress. With your solution-focused and team-oriented attitude, you will lead a collaborative team of construction professionals who match your drive for brilliance. Using your client-centric approach and established technical expertise, you will be a trusted leader for our team and steadfast advisor for our clients to successfully execute every exciting and challenging project you lead. Success is in the details and the core of what you do. As a Project Director, you are a construction guru keeping project goals, execution, people, and communication always top of mind. What YOU Will Do
  1. Supervise projects at a strategic level and implement processes and strategies, secure their budgets, maximize their profitability and ensure client satisfaction;
  2. Support your project management teams to develop and drive the project planning and execution ensuring that objectives and contractual requirements are met;
  3. Put your problem-solving skills to work by initiating and promoting innovative methods that will increase effectiveness and efficiency to ensure project excellence and productivity;
  4. Utilize your experience in trade partner selection and coordination of their activities;
  5. Apply your financial management experience to plan, manage and respect project budgets;
  6. Share your knowledge and be a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team members;
  7. Keep the lines of communication open regarding project status and updates;
  8. Be an expert in risk management to ensure mitigation plans are in place to eliminate or reduce their impact on the project;
  9. Demonstrate leadership and demand excellence in Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental management;
  10. Celebrate project success and completion and be a key member of the project wrap-up process.
What YOU Will Bring
  • 10+ years' experience in the civil construction industry with diversified experience in large & complex infrastructure work such as bridges, large underground utilities, water & wastewater treatment plants, concrete work, deep foundations etc;
  • University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience;
  • A proven track record of project leadership, success, and team collaboration;
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project, and technical issues to bring the project to successful completion;
  • Strong knowledge of construction and project management;
  • Role model status for health and safety as well as quality;
  • Good computer skills and previous experience with scheduling software;
  • In-depth knowledge of the BC market.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $165,000 - $223,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate's experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.
