We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Finance to join our team as we grow rapidly. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic financial planning to support our rapid growth and innovation in the cannabis industry. Lead year-end audit preparations and act as the primary contact with external auditors. Manage compliance efforts as we expand internationally Manage quarterly filings for QST, GST/HST, WCB, and annual filings for EHT and US entity registrations. Oversee treasury and cash flow management to optimize liquidity and financial stability. Approve accounts payable weekly and payroll bi-weekly/semi-monthly, ensuring timeliness and accuracy. Develop and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts, comparing against actual performance monthly. Maintain capital tables and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Direct financial planning and budget management functions, recommending benchmarks for performance measurement. Assist in establishing departmental policies, procedures, and organizational structures to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Serve on planning and policy-making committees to contribute financial expertise and insights. Support financial audits, providing recommendations for procedural improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate finance department staff to ensure high performance and professional development. Fulfill other duties and responsibilities consistent with the role of VP of Finance as requested by the CEO. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA, CPA preferred). Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position. Proven track record of strategic financial planning, budget management, and financial analysis. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Experience in learning and understanding complex businesses, particularly in the cannabis industry. Proficiency in implementing new financial software and streamlining financial operations. Cross-border and international experience, including structuring international and domestic businesses.
