ABOUT THIS TEAM

The Agile Retail team manages the strategy and programming for outlets, pop up stores, and tests future innovative retail concepts. Based at the Store Support Centre in Vancouver, BC (SSC) and with members throughout North America, the Agile Retail team is responsible for SSC to store communications, creating strategies for future growth with new initiatives to develop, test and learn, and evolve existing and new formats and programs to support the demands of a dynamic retail environment and growing store fleet. This team is a key pillar in lululemon's strategy of expanding the portfolio and achieving strategic business objectives across North America and beyond.

The Agile Retail Store Design and Construction team is responsible for the architectural layout planning, store design and construction of all North American pop-up stores, pop-up outlets and Agile Retail Innovative Concept stores for lululemon. While delivering on the company's strategic growth plans through highly efficient operating standards and the focus of sweat, grow, connect as manifested through the execution of the brand's pinnacle expression: the physical retail store. Through clarity, accuracy, and efficiency we support the business ambitions and enhance guest experience while delivering consistent design queues to reinforce a strong experiential brand identity.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Executing prototypical branded design standards to all Agile Concepts (pop-up stores and pop-up outlets) within North American portfolio, not specific to sub-regional limitations, coordinating all aspects of store layout and design implementation and execution
  • Accountable for the accuracy, buildability, quality and timeliness of all drawings and documentation related to the design for stores
  • Upholds and preserves lululemon's brand image and global design consistency, following agile retail standards and specifications in conjunction with our mainline design and playbook standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Upon internal Kick-off from the Agile Leasing Team, the Store Design Planner, produces in-house test fits and fixture layouts in conjunction with identified product strategy, and prepares Schematic design packages for Visual Merchandising and Manager approval. Reviews all site surveys, interprets tenant criteria and permitting requirements for the project
  • Delivers signed-off layouts and Schematic design packages to external team and then partners with, coordinates and manages internal (IT, AP, BOH, Brand, etc) and external (Architect, MEPS, lighting, fixture, etc.) partners to ensure the development of all drawing sets are accurate, meets quality standards, building codes, health and safety regulations, and are on time and are on budget from project start to finish, ensuring acquisition of all permits and approvals
  • Plan checks drawing sets with Manager, Agile Retail Store Design & Construction to ensure design intent is being followed.
  • Coordinates all fixture ordering and quote requests with external fixture vendors
  • Responsible to develop and build all design presentations as required for cross-functional enrollment and senior level alignment
  • Liaises and presents projects to internal and external partners to gain permissions and approval (e.g. Presentations of concept to landlords, etc.), acting as point of contact for all design and architectural issues raised from all third party and landlord contacts and feeding this information and any resulting effect on projects back to members of the business and Agile team
  • Reporting of design project progress and updates to Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years' experience in retail store space planning and design, or architectural and/or design consultancy practices
  • Fluent in AutoCAD, InDesign, Excel. Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, Smartsheet a bonus.
  • Familiarity with basic building codes or construction practices.
  • Familiar with store development processes, vendor management, and maintaining client relationships.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to effectively manage tasks of varying complexities, strong ability to drive projects forward, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Analytical, communication and organizational skills, strong written and oral communication abilities
  • Detail oriented problem solver who can employ leadership, critical thinking and time management skills and can work effectively both independently and on teams
  • Proactive in approach and very organized
  • Highly motivated, creative, detail oriented and solution focused

lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and teamperformance. Thetypical hiring range for this positionis from $81,500 -107,000 CAD annually ; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
