Role Overview:
7Gen is at the forefront of innovation in sustainable energy solutions. We are looking to incorporate a dynamic Fleet Electrification Project Manager to its rapidly growing team, to support the delivery of fleet electrification infrastructure projects across North America.
During early assessment and feasibility stage:
- Work with internal and external teams to assess the suitability of fleet electrification for a customer;
- Work with Project development team to define vehicle, charger and infrastructure requirements for a project
- Coordinate delivery of fleet/infrastructure assessment reports from subcontractors
- Provide input into the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model to the Finance team
- Develop project scope, schedule, and budget
- Review contracts and play a key role in negotiations with suppliers and service providers;
- Support the Finance team by providing and reviewing clear and concise inputs to financial models;
- Ensure efficient transition between project development and project construction phases;
During construction:
- Day to day project management and direction;
- Lead and coordinate the internal project team for construction projects including technical, environmental, land, legal, accounting, construction (site), and finance team members;
- Support with project permitting;
- Ensure effective coordination and information sharing within the multiple-disciplinary project teams;
- Manage and monitor construction to achieve high level of site safety, quality, on time and on budget delivery of the project;
- Establish and maintain strong owner presence;
- Lead communication with construction contractors and suppliers;
- Manage construction contracts with suppliers and service contractors;
- Manage procurement process and long lead time item delivery;
- Lead interface with utility during the construction phase;
- Lead interface with Engineers during construction phase;
- Review and provide recommendations for change orders, construction draws and payments;
- Support the finance team by providing clear and concise input to financial models;
- Establish and maintain an internal project document filing system;
- Coordinate responses to requests for information (RFIs), letters and design reviews;
- Coordinate review of project quality documentation;
- Lead preparation of weekly progress reporting;
- Improve and develop project management tools and processes;
- Coordinate commissioning and testing of the equipment;
- Close-out projects including full transfer of a project to the operations group;
- Lead lessons learned workshop post-construction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Environmental, Civil Engineering or equivalent;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project development, construction and/or management of energy projects, or in a similar position in electrical infrastructure development;
- Experience with multidisciplinary projects including contract and supplier interfaces;
- Direct management/leadership of project teams is required;
- Previous experience with electrical utilities (Hydro Quebec is an asset), building energy assessment, EV chargers;
- Experience with project management tools and CRMs (Experience in Asana or similar project management tool is an asset);
- Experience with Sales CRMs and ERP systems (Hubspot experience is an asset) Bilingual French/English (this position is mostly with our partners in QC, so French is a requirement)

Compensation:
- The Project Manager role offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary of $100k - $140k, reflecting the candidate's experience and the value they bring to 7Gen.
