Adjunct Instructor-International Supply Chain 2024

Corporate Development, Applied Research and International (CDARI) is SAIT's face to industry. Our instructors and staff are passionate about student and instructor success, in an environment that values applied academic excellence, teamwork, collaboration and driving innovation. Our non-credit courses are aligned to industry and designed to meet the needs of employers today and in the future.

The division centralizes and supports industry clients to develop customized non-credit corporate training for their employees and take their innovative product and process ideas to market locally, nationally and internationally. Within CDARI sits a number of support functions including Business Operations, Continuing Education, International, Corporate Training, Applied Research, and Business Intelligence.

CDARI is hiring Supply Chain instructors for the upcoming International Supply Chain Program. All classes are in person at SAIT, run through Brightspace/D2L. These are the classes below still available. ONLY Daytime courses available. Only apply if you are available to work Mon-Fri daytime over these periods please.

SCMT 005 Operations Management - International

12:00pm- 4pm

Role

  • Prepare and present lessons, lectures, assignments, quizzes, exams, lab activities and lab demonstrations for learners if applicable given the course outline
  • Maintain records for the purposes of grading, assessing professionalism and tracking attendance in both theory and lab classes if given the course outline
  • Manage the classroom or lab to ensure a positive learning environment
  • Show personal interest in the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learning
  • Provide on-going support, guidance and advice to students
  • Attend all SAIT training as required
  • Achievement of School initiatives and Objectives
  • Be an active and engaged member of the School
  • Adhere to all safety legislation, guidelines and safety standards as required
  • Maintain contact with relevant industry sectors
  • All other duties as required for the position

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or education.
  • Specific business/management and supply chain industry experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Candidates with one or more related professional designations will be given preference (eg. SCMP, CLTD, P MP, PROSCI, etc.).
  • Specific business/management and economics/finance industry experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in the area of International supply chain is considered an asset
  • Current Industry experience, first hand knowledge of what employers and industry seek, want and need in terms of supply risk management, supply analytics, distribution planning.
  • Have and open and willing attitude to share knowledge, be guided, and take instruction from an instructional designer
  • Have strong English written and verbal communication skills to articulate concepts, ideas, and theory clearly
  • Previous teaching experience is considered an asset
  • Have strong attention to detail in written communication
  • Maintain reliability and accountability to timelines and project milestones
  • Maintain attentiveness to the deliverables of the engagement and respond to communication in a timely manner
  • Previous experience with Brightspace or other LMS is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Proficiency with virtual meeting tools and technology: Zoom, MS Teams, Webcam, Microphone
