Senior Planning and Evaluation Specialist (6-month term)

Department: Environment and Climate Change

The mandate of the Department of Environment and Climate Change is to manage land, water, air, wildlife, and forests. This includes promoting, planning, and supporting the wise and sustainable use of natural resources, and protecting, restoring, and stewarding the environment for the social and economic benefit of all Northwest Territories residents.

Job Information

You will work directly with and has a functional reporting relationship on a project-by-project basis to senior managers including the Assistant Deputy Ministers, directors, and superintendents within the department in conducting performance management and evaluation functions.You will also guide performance management activities that contribute to setting priorities, overall strategic direction, and medium to long-term goals for the department. The monitoring and evaluation activities impact all aspects of the department's core business activities. Finally, you will be required to lead, inform, and contribute to interdepartmental monitoring and evaluation activities.

Typically attained by:

This level of knowledge, skill and ability is typically acquired through a combination of a university degree in Social Sciences or a related field and three years of work experience in program monitoring, evaluation, performance measurement and analysis, including at least one year working towards or having received the Credentialed Evaluator Designation through the Canadian Evaluation Society.
