This is your opportunity to embrace a culture that promotes a passion for customer service, teamwork and continuous improvement as well as ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service experience for our members and customers of Calgary Co-op.The Pharmacy Assistant position will be responsible for providing specialized pharmaceutical care to patients receiving specialty medications, including biologics and to ensure safe and effective therapy for patients with complex medical conditions. Prior Authorization Assistance: Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to help obtain prior authorizations for specialty medications, ensuring patients have timely access to their prescribed treatments. Billing and Reimbursement Support: Assist with insurance claims processing and billing tasks related to specialty medications, ensuring accurate documentation for reimbursement. Pharmacy Software Utilization: Utilize pharmacy software systems for data entry, prescription processing, and patient record management. Collaborative Teamwork: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with pharmacists, clinical pharmacists and pharmacy staff at store level. Crossover duties at out Compliance Packaging Centre. Participate in the development and action of yearly competency performance work plan(s) and development action plan(s). Pass the Calgary Co-op Pharmacy Assistant test. Completed a recognized Pharmacy Assistant Program (preferred) Experience working in Specialty pharmacy (preferred) Proficiency and competence with Microsoft Office applications Prior experience in a specialty pharmacy or healthcare setting dealing with complex medications is an advantage Should have a good understanding of word, excel and PowerPoint applications Calgary Co-op takes pride in providing more than just an attractive compensation and benefits plan, as well as an industry leading pension plan and recognition program.
