Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing project planning, implementation, and tracking to ensure timely and successful project completion.

Supervision and Oversight:

  • As a member of the Project Site Team, the Contractor's duties include being in charge of all on-site construction activities on a daily basis and enforcing company standards as a competent Site Superintendent would do
  • Advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts
  • Review the project plans (Consultant's design drawings) and specifications; provide prompt feedback to the Project Manager on the building design, scheduling, possible cost saving measures, potential errors, discrepancies and construction problems which could arise
  • Monitor, contribute and assure compliance with project construction plans, schedules, budgets, man hours, design requirements and assume responsibility for the commissioning of project systems
  • Take the lead on productivity issues and monitor work performance and efficiency of employees and subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedule are followed and project is executed effectively and within budget
  • Ensure project materials and workmanship meets the project Quality Standards
  • Record property damage estimated in excess of $500 in value
  • Complete and review all documented deficiency list items
  • Manage, contact, schedule and coordinate all sub-contractors, engineers, suppliers, utilities, municipal inspections and all other construction activities. Coordinate and direct independent testing and inspections as required
  • Ensure that "as built" drawings are prepared on an ongoing basis by all trades during the construction period
  • Practice sound selection and hiring procedures
  • Ensure all new hires / employees have proper safety courses
  • Ensure proper PPE & Specialized PPE is being used
  • Ensure all employees are aware of safety procedures
  • Ensure all employees have knowledge of equipment being used
  • Inform the Company of all absences, write-ups and pending terminations
  • Comply with the Company's progressive discipline procedures
  • Inform the Company of absences & involve HR in all write-ups and terminations

Set Up of Job Shack:

  • Create an Emergency Response Procedure Plan & Muster Point
  • Create a Map with exact address
  • Office Supply List
  • First Aid Kit(s), Fire Extinguishers, Eye Wash Stations
  • Post Emergency phone numbers with Stars Air Ambulance
  • Post Company Rules

Daily Reports & Site Safety:

  • Hazard Assessments (Field Level Hazard Assessment with Hazard Rating Systems)
  • Daily Site Sign-in Log and timesheet sign-off
  • Daily Work Report and Lost Time Report
  • Site Inspection
  • Document Near Miss/incidents, and WCB reports as needed
  • Coordinate construction site security and monitoring as required
  • Ensure that site is clean and free of debris, maintain a neat and tidy site office, and tool cribs
  • Ensure the implementation of the LESTON Health & Safety Program, and create a safe work environment throughout the jobsite, adhere to the safety and record keeping requirements and ensure that the Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements are enforced
  • Maintain control and responsibility for the security and operation of LESTON directly owned equipment on the job site. Ensure site equipment is properly functioning, all fluids are at ideal levels, equipment damage and repairs are recorded and reported, and weekly equipment circle checks are filled out and submitted weekly
  • Ensure head office is notified of ALL incidents and ensure all insurance company requirements are met
  • Ensure Leston office receives all documents in a timely fashion

Monthly / Weekly:

  • Toolbox Safety Meeting
  • Review & approve invoices
  • Review & approve weekly rental equipment sheet to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Review and approve subcontract audit reports
  • Participate in monthly budget review and forecasting
  • Worksite Safety Inspection
  • Inspection of First Aid Kits, Fire Extinguishers, and other related Safety items

Duties As Required:

  • Manage all on site aspects of the project
  • Manage MSDS Sheets
  • Maintain a clean Job Site and secure Job Site at the end of the day
  • Construct and maintain at all times a secured site fence as required by insurance
  • Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Coordinate all Subcontractors and Suppliers
  • Be on-call, in order to deal with Construction and/or building emergencies.
  • Pick-up and deliver materials and supplies as required
  • Recommend, arrange & supervise additional maintenance services (including but not limited to window cleaning, power-washing and carpet cleaning)

Experience:

- Proficiency in project management software such as SharePoint
- Experience in product development and data collection
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to implement projects efficiently within specified timelines
- Familiarity with time management techniques to prioritize tasks effectively
