Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager, Training & Programs, this position is responsible for drafting Water & Gas infrastructure, performing QA/QC desktop audits on Water & Gas, processing record changes to be incorporated into GIS, CityWorks , etc., liaising with other divisions (IT, GIS, etc.) and providing engineering assistance to Utilities staff, consultants, and the general public .

Responsibilities :

  • Creates and revises drafts required by the department including the production of gas and water construction drawings using computer aided drafting techniques.
  • Performs record management duties.
  • Responds to public and internal gas and water information requests.
  • Processes gas service applications.
  • Assists with maintenance programs.
  • Perform s QA/QC check on Water and Gas infrastructure.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • M inimum of 2-year diploma or 2 years in a specialized post-secondary program
  • Minimum of 1-year related experience.
  • De monstrated experience with computer aided drafting systems (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • D emonstrated experience with drafting, data collection, and analysis activities.
  • De monstrated knowledge in the fundamental engineering concepts related to design and construction processes and procedures.
  • A bility to support and project values compatible with the organization.
  • Proven ability to read, understand, and interpret drawings.
  • Proven proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite products, Access, On-Point, GIS and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of O.Reg 170/03, CSA Z662 Code, relevant procedures, practices, standards, as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act will be an asset
  • Experience with CityWorks or other Asset Management software is an asset .
  • Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
