They are currently looking for a Director of Finance to join their team!Work closely with senior leadership to drive the growth of the businessTrain, mentor and motivate a team of 2-3 finance professionalsMonitor and analyze team performance to achieve performance targetsReporting - Fund reporting and investment property reportingReview financial statements and investment reporting prepared in accordance with US GAAP - Investment Company Accounting and IFRSManage the external audit and tax reporting process with Big 4 firmsManage investmentsPrepare/review various financial information and analytics to ensure accuracy of reporting as well as optimal performancePrepare/review stakeholder reporting including lenders, parent companies, fund investors, tax and other regulatory authoritiesEnsure lender compliance, REIT compliance, legal entity protocol compliance, statutory compliance, governance & control testing, etc.Onboarding and offboarding investments - including review of organizational structures, review of fund flow in close coordination with tax, open bank accounts, review loan agreements, review cash management agreements, review closing statements and prorations, purchase price allocations and acquisition opening entries / divestiture entries, onboard third-party property managers, etc.Financial, Planning & AnalysisWork with asset management team to develop an annual budget as well as a 5-year business plandesign and implement automation improvementAssists and liaise with tax consultant, as necessary for real estate tax reassessment and appealsAbout You Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA preferred)Professional accounting designation with at least 7+ years of progressive work experience with a mix of public accounting and industry experience; experience in real estate is considered an assetMinimum of 3+ years of experience managing and mentoring a finance teamExperience in accounting / consolidation systems (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics, Yardi, JD Edwards, Hyperion, OneStream, etc.) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
