Position Overview

As a permanent, full-time Landscape Planning Technician at the City of Kamloops, you will play a key role in conceptualizing, planning, and designing outdoor environments for a variety of projects ranging from urban parks to residential developments. You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and other partners to ensure that landscape designs are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and adhere to our by-laws and standards.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

1. Completion of a post-secondary Horticulture Management Diploma.
2. Minimum two years' working experience in landscape planning and design including creating and implementing plans for urban and commercial spaces and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
3. Proficient in intermediate Word and basic Excel, as demonstrated through testing. A 70% pass rate is required.
4. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's Licence.
