Who We Are?

TSC Nursery is a wholesale nursery located in Richmond, British Columbia. We produce several varieties of quality trees, conifers, broadleaved evergreens, woody ornamentals, perennials, ornamental grasses, native plants, and ground covers.

Versatile and competitive, we are a leading supplier of nursery stock to commercial contractors, residential landscapers, retailers, municipal governments, and other nurseries.

We are a local, family-owned and operated nursery with six growing locations and a production area totaling over 65 acres.

The Role

We are looking for an assistant grower to work closely with our Grower at our Richmond locations and report directly to the Head Grower. This role is for a passionate individual who is interested in cultivating healthy plants and does not mind working outdoors in rain or shine conditions. The requirements for this role are as follows:

o 1-2 years of plant production experience in an ornamental nursery or greenhouse setting

o Bachelor of Science/diploma in a related field is an asset

o Pesticide Applicator's Certificate is an asset

o First aid certificate or willingness to obtain one

o A valid BC driver's license

o Ability to lift up to 50 Lbs

o Ability to follow safe work procedures and standards

o Detail oriented with excellent communication skills

Your Responsibilities

❖ Assist the grower with daily tasks that include:

o Monitoring crop moisture levels

o Assisting in preventative facility maintenance

o Data collection and management

o Mixing soluble fertilizer according to the Grower's instructions

o Plant maintenance duties: crop pruning, dumping, fertilizing, irrigation, and other tasks.

o Monitoring for pests and pathogens and reporting any issues to the Grower

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• RICHMOND, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Pay: $16.75-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
