What You'll Be Doing

  • Work with a team to assemble manufactured and purchased components to meet the specifications as indicated by assembly drawings. This may be done as part of a team for large complex assemblies, or smaller stand-alone cells.
  • Assemblies may include complex arrangements and may require fitting and adjustment to meet close tolerances.
  • Working with Mechanical Design, Controls, Purchasing and other members of the Samuel Automation team to overcome technical issues and roadblocks.
  • Travel to customer site for onsite installation of equipment.
  • Additional hours may be required for scheduled or unscheduled onsite customer service on evenings or weekends

  • Technical aptitude with capacity to understand mechanical drawings
  • Math skills and able to use measurement tools
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team

Level of Autonomy and Authority

  • Work with detailed supervision, typically on a team with more experience builders.
  • Difficult, complex or unusual matters are referred to more senior authority.

Key Requirements

  • Interest in pursuing license in MTBI, Millwright or Tool and Die at least 2 years of experience in Industrial Automation
  • Basic Shop Safety Rules and Knowledge of duties under OHSA
  • Must have a valid passport and driver's license, as well as the ability to travel to customer sites both locally and internationally
  • Must be available to travel for periods of up to 3 weeks
