The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is a regulatory agency that reports to the Ministry of the Attorney General. The AGCO is responsible for regulating the alcohol, gaming, horseracing, and private cannabis retail sectors in Ontario, in accordance with the principles of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest.

The Digital Product Delivery – Product Development Team is currently seeking a seasoned Senior Application Developer for Oracle Fusion to join our fast, highly productive Team. Reporting to the Manager, Product Development, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting users of Oracle Fusion by optimizing the functionality of the Product and related business processes . Additionally, the Senior Application Developer will be responsible to respond to production issues and conduct root cause analysis, implement solutions to issues. The position will interface with key stakeholders and apply technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle. The Senior Application Developer will have knowledge and experience of tools and utilities such as Oracle Workflow and cloud platforms/tools like OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud), Oracle HDL (HCM Data Loader), and FBDI (File Based Data Import).

In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain applications and solutions that satisfy AGCO business requirements.
  • Be responsible for checking in code, and creating deployment packages, and working with infrastructure services to ensure code is implemented in the various environments.
  • Provide consultation, support, and guidance to Application Developers, and work in collaboration across IT and business stakeholders to design, develop, and implement applications and solutions.
  • Provide technical input, assessment, realistic estimates to project team for planning, risk analysis, schedule and change management.
  • Conduct peer code-reviews and provide feedback in a constructive manner to team members.
  • Support the infrastructure services team with troubleshooting the installation and configuration of all code releases into all IT environments.
  • Troubleshoot and verify that all scheduled jobs have run successfully to ensure all critical business operational tasks are completed during incident and problem investigation and resolution.
  • Support production issues, includes independently completing root-cause analysis and diagnosis.
  • Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks while analyzing these issues and developing appropriate mitigations or escalating where appropriate.
  • Participate in project meetings including post project analysis and provide insightful input and ideas; and effectively communicate project status and challenges.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or an IT related technical discipline, or equivalent experience, with a professional certification on any Oracle Technology is an asset.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience as an Oracle Fusion Developer, with focus on ERP and EPM modules.
  • Experience in multiple end-to-end implementations/support projects of Oracle with a minimum 4 years of experience participating on software development projects in a senior capacity.
  • Proficient Knowledge of Oracle Cloud like (GL/CoA, AP, AR, FA, CM, Expense, Imaging/Web center, Control/Reporting); Oracle BI Publisher experience highly desirable.
  • Understanding of integration using webservices / REST API is a must.
  • Hands-on experience in Fusion cloud Financials modules, Fusion integration technologies like reporting technologies i.e., BI Publisher, FBDI, OTBI, FRCS and Smartviews as well as with ADF Desktop Integration (ADFDI) in Oracle Cloud Applications.
  • Strong Relational Database and P/SQL skills, experience with Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Adhere to standard security coding practices to ensure application is free of most common coding vulnerabilities.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
  • The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be subject to a criminal background check.
