Wizards of the Coast, ('WotC') is one of the world's largest publishers of adventure games, including Magic: The Gathering Trading Card Game and Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Games. Wizards of the Coast Poland, which is based in Poznan, is developing digital assets for WotC. Role: Lead Software Engineer As the Lead Software Engineer working to support Magic: The Gathering tabletop play, you will lead a team of developers who build and enhance web applications, APIs, and services which support Magic players, event organizers and retailers around the globe. Lead the end-to-end development of web applications and services, including design, development, testing, and deployment ensuring a smooth process throughout. # Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. # Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, business intelligence and multi-functional teams to define requirements, develop product roadmaps, and ensure successful project delivery. # Advise on architecting and implementing scalable and efficient web applications, APIs, and services, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and maintainability. # Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in web development and provide recommendations on standard processes and tools. # Collaborate with partners to gather feedback, iterate on features, and continuously improve the quality, performance and user experience of our web applications and services. Proven experience as a lead software engineer (2+ years), specifically focused on full stack web application, API, and service development. At least 5 years of experience as a software engineer in full stack web development before moving into the management track. Strong knowledge of web engineering architecture, design patterns, and standard processes. Ideally using React, Typescript, NextJS and GraphQL. Strong knowledge of and commitment to engineering quality, such as with unit testing, test automation and performance testing. Solid understanding of web app performance optimization, security, and usability principles. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines into containerized infrastructure. Experience working in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical partners. Experience with monitoring and alerting tools in support of production operations. Experience with automation in support of tasks, data analysis, or external system integrations. Familiarity with C# and .NET framework, as some of our auxiliary tools may be built using these technologies.
