Salary: $69,283.00-$105,000.00 Plus Overtime and Bonuses

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Equipment Specification associate, you will be involved with both Regional Honda engineering groups as well as HCM departments to ensure that detailed specifications have been developed for HCM equipment in alignment with Honda Global Standard. Some responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: supporting target achievement for projects, creating/modifying equipment specifications, and carrying through projects to the installation of equipment. Some characteristics of the ideal candidate include exceptional organization and communication skills, experience with equipment design software (SolidWorks/CATIA), and experience in specification development.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and support engineering department projects from the initial investigation through to completion regarding mechanical specifications and concept development
  2. Manage Requests for Engineering Assistance (RFEA) across internal production departments while managing the project prioritization based on the requirements and resource availability
  3. Support the Engineering department quotation process
  4. Work with customers to perform project investigation to determine the following:
    • Project scope
    • Project targets
    • Schedules
    • Maker layout
  5. Support specification, design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning or production processes to ensure project targets are achieved
  6. Integrate vision systems, perform offline simulations, and create specifications for automated equipment
  7. Develop concepts and prove the concept by performing prototype testing or simulation
  8. Provide training to other engineering staff within the Engineering department on technical topics and specification development
  9. Investigate automation technologies and determine suitability for use at HCM
  10. Support the development of equipment standards related to robotics, new technology, design, etc.
  11. Business Plan theme development and execution – drive business efficiency and quality improvements
  12. Lead project prioritization and justification for future fiscal years
