Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice-President Strategic Development, the person holding this position wishes to actively participate in the digital transformation of the port to become a smart port. Thus, it contributes to the significant improvement of the performances of the Port of Trois-Rivières through the processing and use of data linked, among other things, to the use of spaces, Port traffic, environmental technologies, productivity and efficiency of the logistics chain. She is responsible for implementing methods and technologies that enable management to make informed operational and business decisions. She works with different technological means, demonstrates great analytical skills and is comfortable in the manipulation and exploitation of data.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collect, analyze and process information and data on the use of spaces, Port traffic, environmental technologies, logistics and intermodal activities and all other relevant data.
Implement new technologies and generate new data sources, develop programs and exploit digital information.
Work with managers to continuously improve the performance of transportation activities (inside and outside the Port), handling and warehousing. See to the implementation and monitoring of the resulting digital and technological projects.
Support the different departments in the analysis and presentation of data.
Contribute to the advancement of research and innovation projects and manage access to digital platforms
Generate, analyze and monitor performance indicators linked to the needs of the different departments.
Ensure the deployment and proper functioning of the various technological components and software intended for data collection installed in the port.
Ensure data integrity, investigate sources of anomalies and resolve them.
Contribute to technological monitoring dealing with subjects and issues in terms of digitalization and data processing that affect port, maritime, rail and road environments.
Collaborate in the preparation and implementation of the annual work plan of the Strategic Development department.
Based on the performance indicators retained by the APTR, compile the data necessary to compare the Port of Trois-Rivières with other ports or sectors of activity.
Perform all other tasks related to their roles and responsibilities.
You will have to work in partnership with all sectors of the company and the main data stakeholders in order to raise awareness and promote data responsibly and make it a strategic asset.
Proactively identify and interpret business needs for digital data and identify opportunities that improve decision-making at all levels of the organization and make recommendations.
Create analytics by visually presenting data and popularizing it to support decision-making and business understanding.

Note that this position requires a technical aspect, sometimes requiring presence in the field in order to coordinate the installation and maintenance of measuring equipment, for example.

Requirements

  • Important - Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (business intelligence, statistics, IT, computer engineering, etc.).
  • Important - Excellent knowledge of MS Office 365 (Power BI, Excel, SQL, Python, VBA, Access and other relevant software.)
  • Important - Fluency in French and English (intermediate), both oral and written. Because you will sometimes have to discuss with external suppliers who use the English language
