Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team and oversee the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical control systems in our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, hands-on experience with control systems, and the ability to lead a team of technicians to ensure the smooth operation of our production processes.

Responsibilities
  1. Oversee electrical design approval, component selection, and coordination of control and power installations across the facility.
  2. Manage assigned projects from conception to closeout, ensuring timely and budget-compliant deliverables.
  3. Identify and mitigate project risks within resource and budget constraints, including safety, quality, and performance.
  4. Ensure compliance with Pre Start Health and Safety Reviews and project-related protocols.
  5. Coordinate cross-functional teams to develop and install projects, documenting objectives and addressing issues.
  6. Develop and maintain electrical systems and maintenance documentation.
  7. Serve as main source of contact in identifying, planning, and communication substation preventative maintenance, as well as follow up.
  8. Establish and maintain plant-wide control systems and communication strategies.
  9. Provide clear directions to trades personnel, including contractors, regarding work scope and adherence to policies.
  10. Identify resource needs and collaborate with managers to ensure timely project completion.
  11. Assist in troubleshooting electrical equipment and controls, including PLC instrumentation and industrial applications.
  12. Communicate task completion, project progress, and duties to management and stakeholders.
  13. Troubleshoot and rectify electrical and controls related issues within the entire facility.
  14. Fulfill additional assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications

Completion of Electrician Trade Certification, College/University related education, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical controls, automation, or related roles. Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and rectify complex control system issues. Experience with steam control/thermal processes and systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motor control circuits and cable splicing techniques. Knowledge of safe work practices associated with confined spaces, working with heavy equipment, power tools, hand tools, and chemicals systems. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information and lead a team.
