Job Summary:
This incumbent provides a wide range of administrative support services for the Human Resources department.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide confidential administrative support regarding HR activities.
- Liaise with staff, supervisors, benefit carriers, and the general public regarding HR issues.
- Maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal staff and external contacts.
- Maintain records management and bring forward systems according to established procedures.
- Assist with compensation and benefits program administration.
- Compile statistics and prepare reports, including data for use in collective bargaining, seniority lists, pay increase dates, etc.
- Coordinate relevant training programs, events, and workshops, including employee recognition and long service awards.
- Provide input into relevant bylaws, policies, and procedures.
- Act as Human Resources Coordinator as assigned.
- Follow, so far as is reasonably practicable, established safety procedures and standards.
- Other related duties.

Position Requirements:Working Conditions: Majority of the work is performed under normal office conditions.
Knowledge and Skills:
- 1 year post-secondary Business Administration certificate or related field.
- 3 years previous related experience and 6 months on-the-job training.
- Knowledge of human resources practices is an asset.
- Strong client service orientation and good interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and collective agreements.
- Ability to work and maintain accuracy under pressure and to meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
