Summary of Position:
Our client is looking for a full-time Intermediate Architect, registered (or eligible to be) with the AIBC. This individual will have strong knowledge in all project phases, including in-site construction administration & coordination experience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop innovative design concepts, solutions while working collaboratively with a team during concept design, space planning, schematic design and design development
  • Produce pre-design, design and technical drawings on all phases of a project
  • Participate in the technical development of projects during construction documents
  • Resolve technical and design issues with the assistance of a Senior Architect
  • Maintain clear communication and coordination within internal team members and clients
  • Support thecontinued development of the architectural in-house design production expertise and methodologies
  • Coordinate and attend project construction meetings, including involvement in client and design meetings
  • Coach and mentor junior team members

Qualifications:

  • Architectural degree from an accredited program
  • Registered with AIBC, or eligible to be
  • Minimum 5 years of Canadian experience, preferrably in BC
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360 & SketchUp
  • Experience in all phases of design with the ability to see a project through from schematic design through to working drawings and completion of construction
  • Strong understanding of building technology, mechanical and electrical infrastructure
  • Able to co-ordinate with consultants, contractors and authorities having jurisdiction; self-directed and able to lead project teams to resolve design issues and develop drawing packages
  • Understanding of BC Building Code and local by-laws
