Main Responsibilities / Activities
The purpose of this Controls Project Engineer is to support conveyor, robotic, and integration projects for new and pre-existing accounts/customers. The main experiences sought for this position are design/programming/wiring systems, as well as ramping up integration solutions. This position's responsibilities begin during the sales cycle engaging with customers, until the very completion including installation, onsite set-up, and all other after-sales support.
The expectations for this role are broken into two sectors:
- Tasks Programming (PLC/Software development)
- Hardware engineering
- Panel Building
- Electrical devices and wiring techniques
- Commissioning systems, machinery, and equipment as needed
- Training and servicing customers as needed
- Responsibility for managing subprojects
- Supportive in sales and quoting
- Supportive in conceptual design
- Organize and conduct quarterly webinars
Knowledge:
- Automation engineering according to EN 60204-1 and IEC 60439-1
- Licensed Electrician strongly preferred
- Build a system to Code
- Build panel, arrange for inspection
- Safety engineering according to EN954-1
- Good experience in PLC programming
- Good experience in C++ / Java programming
- Good experience in HMI/SCADA
- Good experience in field buses
- Experience of robot programming
- Experience of servo motors
- AutoDesk CAD tools
- Hands-on in mechanics and controls
- Focused on customers and business
- Ability and interest for attention to details and correctness
- Well-structured and organized in a workspace
- Good analytical skills
- Independent critical thinking
- Enthusiasm, drive, and creativity
Engineering degree and Electrical License Work highly preferred.
Minimum 5 years in the workforce demonstrating the job requirements assigned.
Fluent in English, bi-lingual a plus.
Ability to work on-site at the SBU location in Burlington, along with some travel to customer sites domestic and internationally.
