About Kruger Energy
A business unit of Kruger, Kruger Energy specializes in the development and management of green and renewable energy facilities (wind, hydroelectric, solar, and biomass). Kruger Energy has an optimization center located in Montreal that plays a leading role in the supervision, operation, coordination, and optimization of production at various sites. The intern will work within the optimization center team, in collaboration with the electrical engineer, the engineering manager, and other departments. Their mandate is to support and optimize existing systems, and to participate in the development and integration of new systems.

General responsibilities and requirement:Kruger Energy is seeking an intern to join its Renewable Energy Generation Optimization team. The intern will work within Kruger Energy's optimization center located in Montreal and support the team in the coordination, operation, and optimization of production at various generation sites (assets include wind, hydro, solar, battery storage, and cryptomining).
Responsibilities- Generate and validate operating reports
- Perform monthly analysis of wind farm performance and present to operations team
- Participate in optimization center development projects
- Support AMS systems
- Design, modify, and support GE Proficy Cimplicity HMIs
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs
- Analyze production data to evaluate equipment performance
- Support the operations team on various projects and document the projects you work on
- Solve operational or performance problems at production sites and suggest/implement corrections
- Prepare documentation, manuals, and scripts for operating processes
- Study performance optimization of production sites and suggest implementations
Knowledge of industrial IT (SCADA/IHM, OPC server, PLCs, RTU, SQL server), and in communication network architecture.
Programming experience (VBscript, HTML5, and .net).
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, MS-Project).
Knowledge of power generation systems (wind, hydro, solar, and battery storage).
Knowledge of GE Proficy Cimplicity HMI and Historian products.
Fluent in French and English.
The intern will work primarily in Montreal, but may occasionally be required to travel to production sites. Possibility of working from home three days a week. Candidates must have completed between 3 and 4 years of university studies (preferably in industrial or electrical engineering) and be available to start their internship at 8 months.
