As the Senior Director of Organizing at UFCW 1518, you hold a pivotal role in advancing the union's mission through strategic planning, execution of organizing campaigns and fostering a culture of engagement and growth within the organization. Reporting to the Managing Director, Engagement & Growth, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring seamless coordination and alignment of efforts for the Organizing department. Lead and mentor the Organizing Department in planning and executing external organizing campaigns, while providing support for internal organizing efforts, including: Contract ratification campaigns Leadership development in disengaged units Manage all organizing-focused education initiatives to embed a culture of organizing within the local Manage special campaigns, including defining project objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones, resource requirements, and sources Work closely with the Communications and Campaigns department to develop and execute joint digital lead generation strategies Oversee the filing of organizing-related applications (certification, successor rights, unfair labour practice complaints, etc.) Coordinate various issue campaigns and projects of the local and coordinate community events throughout the year. Facilitate work between Organizers and Union Negotiators during first contract negotiations Coordinate various issue campaigns, community events, and personnel-related matters. Foster growth at UFCW 1518 and the development of its people by managing the Organizing team with hands-on leadership, mentorship, and support to assigned employees to set them up for success in their roles. 5+ years leading union or community organizing campaigns with campaign planning experience. ~ Bachelor's degree or equivalent; formal negotiation/arbitration training preferred. ~ Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. ~ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRMs, and record management. ~ Ability to lead and develop teams, work autonomously, and manage time efficiently. ~ Dedication to social justice. ~ possession of a valid class 5 driving license is required. ~ Fluency in a second language is an asset.
