Join Our Team as a Group Living Support Manager!

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact as a Group Living Manager? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Group Living Support Manager to provide direct leadership, supervision, and support to the group living teams and oversees resource management for the evening hours of operation. The Group Living Support Manager is the first point of contact during the evening for crisis response and unit notifications. The Group Living Support Manager ensures policies, procedures, and agency standards are being met. The Group Living Support Manager oversees the evening services including crisis management as well as supports employee development and performance management within the southern Multiple Program team. The Group Living Support Manager collaborates and communicates with the group living team and other internal and external stakeholders.

Education and Professional Certification

  • University degree in human services or related field of study.

Experience

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with behavioral, cognitive, mental health, and/or developmental challenges.
  • Minimum four (4) years of management experience.

Skills and Characteristics

Leadership

  • Supervise the multiple program worker team including; recruitment and selection, performance management, professional development, and staff discipline.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and team development for all group living employees of the program including: facilitating individual and team meetings; overseeing and providing training and development plans; completing evaluations, reviews, and when applicable, performance improvement plans; participating in employee relations issues and investigations; providing post crisis debriefing; and providing advice and consultation.
  • Responsible to ensure direct reports have completed mandatory training.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and agency standards are being met.

Management of Resources

  • Schedule all employees of the program using agency approved systems for coverage for the participants of the program.
  • Manage and update the schedules as required including approving paid time off (PTO) requests, filling open shifts, and addressing staffing requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with the multiple program team.
  • Work with directors and group living managers to effectively resource the pool of multiple program workers.
  • Effective stewardship and authorization of resources of departmental related expenditures.
  • Ensure operational budget requirements are met.
  • Look for ways to improve process and/or enhance services and efficiencies within the department.
  • Participate in strategic planning for the program.
  • Participate in the development of the annual operating plan and budget for the program.
  • Participate in the successful implementation of initiatives and assigned projects to ensure they are delivered within proposed timeframes and budgets.

  • Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
  • Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions.
  • Include health and safety in departmental plans with measurable goals and objectives.
  • Ensure employees are working in compliance with established safe work practices.

The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.

Employees must hold a class five (5) novice two (2) or higher drivers license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy.
