POSITION OVERVIEW

The Analyst, Business Quality Review (BQR) participates actively in the implementation and ongoing delivery of BDC's testing program of internal controls and acts as an expert in data extraction and analytics for the BQR team. The incumbent acts as an expert on available data, performs analysis, realizes specific testing activities, develops monitoring tools and dashboards and makes recommendations to enhance controls and risk management practices.

The Analyst, Business Quality Review will progress at the national level and report to the Assistant Vice President, Business Quality Review.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Act as an expert in support to the BQR team for extraction and analysis of data from various data banks.

Analyze data extracted from various data banks, including BQR findings database, to identify high-risk situations and design targeted and risk-based samples.

Act as an expert for the Quality Review tool: designing samples, allocating transactions to reviewers, extracting data and producing reports and dashboards using manipulation and visualization tools.

Actively participate in data governance, including validation of BQR-generated data: ensure data collection, preparation and processing are accurate, integrated, orchestrated and executed as planned.

Actively participate in the development, maintenance and evolution of BQR's databases and self-serve analytical tools (e.g., spreadsheets, tables and dashboards and quality) for testing activities, monitoring progresses and follow-up on stakeholders' action plans.

Liaise with the required departments to optimize BQR's use of BDC databases, as well as maintenance and evolution of BQR's tools.

Develop monthly reporting packages for Management using technology and visualization tools.

Participate to designing testing framework, data collection tools and testing of internal controls.

Participate to the preparation of timely, accurate and reliable analysis and reports of BQR's activities.

Assist the Assistant Vice President in elaborating BQR's annual plan and developing BQR's advanced analytics and artificial intelligence roadmap.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor's in finance, mathematics or business analytics

Knowledge of the financial services industry

3-5 years of relevant experience in data extraction and analytics

FRM, PRM or CFA designation is an asset

BDC experience (preferred)

Experienced in data extraction, manipulation & visualization tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI)

Advanced knowledge Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Ability to work in a team

Initiative & creativity

Good written and verbal communication skills

Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)
