Senior Manager, Planning and Water Resources The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) is a community-based environmental organization. We are dedicated to conserving, restoring, developing, and managing renewable natural resources on a watershed basis, considering human, economic and natural environment needs together in an integrated watershed management approach. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Senior Manager, Planning and Water Resources will provide leadership and direction on Planning, Conservation Authorities Act - S. 28 Permitting, and water resources programs including Clean Water Act - Drinking Water Source Protection. Implement the Planning program, including preparing comments on municipal planning matters with a focus on natural hazards (includes applications under the Planning Act, projects under the Environmental Assessment Act and applications under other legislation)· Supervise and implement the drinking water source protection program under the Clean Water Act, including maintaining and updating the source protection plan and assessment report, developing the annual progress report and annual budgets, supporting the role and functions of the Source Protection Committee and Source Protection Authority · 28 permitting, watershed monitoring, floodplain mapping programs · Assist with the flood forecasting and warning and low water programs · Build and maintain working relationships with municipal, provincial, federal agencies, user groups, and private interests · Assist with implementation of changes to the Conservation Authorities Act · Degree in environmental planning, environmental science, geography or related discipline · Membership or eligible for membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute is considered an asset · Working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines including the Conservation Authorities Act Planning Act, Provincial Policy Statement, Ontario Clean Water Act · Ability to understand technical reports such as Environmental Impact Statements, stormwater management reports, subwatershed plans, Clean Water Act assessment reports and Technical Rules, etc. and relate them to current policies and objectives · Experience with computer programs including MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat · Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills · Valid MTO "G" driver's license with a clean driving record. 66 per hour.
