Hiring Assistant Operator for a family owned company located near the St. Catharines area! This company has a strong emphasis on safety, quality and productivity, operating for over 100 years!
You will assist with the operation of a dimple sheet extrusion line. You are accountable for packaging, winder operation (product roll removal), changes of fabric master rolls, providing supplies, keeping the work area clean, etc.
Pay: $21.63/hr
Hours: 12 hour continental shifts (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am) alternating 36 hour and 48 hour weeks
OR
8 hour rotating shifts 7am-3pm; 3pm-11pm; 11pm-7am (40 hours a week)
Duties Include, but are not limited to:
– Operation of winder and pallet stretch wrap machine
– Moving finished product via pallet jack to staging area
– Segregate non-conforming product from finished product; weigh scrap rolls for shift reporting
– Assist with start-up of production line (extruders, winder, etc.)
– Assist with operation of edge trim grinders and maintaining edge-trim system
– Assist with change of fabric master rolls
– Provides info to Operator for shift reports regarding performance on their respective production line
Requirements:
– Minimum 2 years experience in a production environment working with automated equipment
– Training and experience in plastics extrusion, or related educational background and sufficient experience with production equipment a huge asset
– Demonstrated punctuality, reliability and good attendance
– Experience with lift truck or overhead crane operation huge asset
– G license and vehicle to get to and from work highly desired
– Strong communication skills with Health and Safety focus
